Everhope

Big, Bold, and Beautiful

Everhope Exterior1.jpeg

Happy New Year 2023!  Thank you for a decade plus of awesome guests from the world over.

Everhope is approximately 35 minutes from The University of Alabama. We have hosted

everyone - parents of students, professors, wedding brides & grooms, governors, CEOs, models,
actors,
rock stars,
film crews filming at Everhope, authors, professional athletes, and
people
like you and me
looking for a unique experience.

The University of Alabama community is excellent to us and we routinely fill up for

home football games and graduation.  Pre-pandemic, we hosted guests from about 15 nations a year!

Everhope is a stunning example of Greek Revival architecture, boasts its original heart of pine floors, windows,
woodwork, and even its original doorbell!  Designed by architect David Rhinehart Anthony to be Big, Bold

and Beautiful.  Likely built with virgin pine and oak harvested on site, Everhope sports walls four times thicker
than the modern standard.  It has stood the test of time.
Everhope is on the National Register of Historic
Places and the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage for its architectural significance.

Between the main home and multiple outbuildings, Everhope offers 8 unique bedrooms on the property.
Additionally, we have created a rental network of approximately 10 bedrooms in close proximity to Everhope, primarily on state-of-the-art hunting properties.
Visit the Fight page to see how Everhope is helping keep our small town on the map.

Eutaw is one of few Southern cities with 26 antebellum structures on the Department of the Interior's National Register of Historic Places.  We also have incredible architecture in neighboring towns with a couple being featured in 2019 by Southern Living and The University of Alabama.

"...If you're looking for a truly memorable experience in an antebellum home, this is the place for you.  Each room is unique.  Ours had a canopy bed, period curtains, and an ensuite bathroom with a beautiful clawfoot tub.  We also got to see the recently renovated Pecan Shelling House, which has been restored with a lofted beaded its own patio with rocking chairs.  Barden is a truly generous host whose enthusiasm for history and architecture is contagious.  Plus there are two wonderful dogs running around the beautiful grounds.  All of this is just a half hour down the interstate from Tuscaloosa and The University of Alabama.  Thanks for such a great stay, Barden!

"Barden!  We have enjoyed this so much, we hate to leave!  But we will definitely have to include Everhope in our yearly trek.....on Cape San Blas.  Thank you so much for your warm hospitality and all the fascinating historical detail you impart as you guided us about your amazing 1852 mansion.  We certainly wish you all the best as you continue your plans for maintaining this beautiful piece of American History."

"4 days in the Old South compliments of the masterful creativeness of Barden.  It has been a joy to spend some time with you and be able to enjoy with you this exquisite piece of history called Everhope.  You've done her proud!"

"Barden, thank you for the lovely home in Eutaw. We've been excited to see the town and soak up its history.  Dinner (by Smokin' Joe) was fabulous - mac & cheese hangover for sure!"

- San Diego, California

"Barden, As a home grown Alabama "girl" I've stayed in and have seen some beautiful homes in the Deep South and around the world, but your home in tiny Eutaw, AL, just was spectacular and we held down the fort!  LOL!  We will definitely be back.  No matter where we have "escaped to" all over, we will remember this weekend with utmost fondness.  What an amazing "couples time" we were able to spend detached from the work grind and, literally, the rest of the world.  We explored all over and I found a shark tooth in a field and a boar's tusk, all near Aliceville.  We regret we did not get to meet you, but have gathered enough from being here, coupled with your quick, kind communication, to know we are already old friends.  We can not wait to be back and get to meet you too.  We are most appreciative you shared your amazing home with us.  Sarah (the cook) was great, too!  With utmost appreciation..."

- Guntersville, AL

"Traveling the US we always wonder what the next experience will be like.  Everhope lives upto its awe.  This well preserved place in Alabama, so wonderfully renovated and so original was a great treat..."

"Our family invaded Everhope for our Daughter's graduation from U of A.  Barden, Sara, Deane, Smokin Joe and his family made a festive occasion more memorable than we could have imagined.  We leave this wonderful place with everlasting memories and a "family" larger than when we came.  Thank you all for helping us create memories that will last a lifetime and for the opportunity to enrich our lives by having ya'll in it.  Roll Tide!"

- Montvale, New Jersey

"If you are headed to the University of Alabama for a game or an orientation or parents weekend please consider this as your best option!  Our daughter is a new student at BAMA and this is a great getaway while we are in town.  It's quiet and beautiful and a treasure.  They now have TV so you won't miss a game!"

- Oviedo, FL

"We had a GREAT time enjoying this beautiful historical gem! The decor and home took us back into history and we slept like a king and queen. Waking up to the smell of fresh homemade biscuits and bacon was also wonderful. The other guests were delightful and our host Barden was the BOMB. Delightful, kind and a very wonderful host. We cannot wait to visit again."
